A child born into poverty and illness, her time in this world was destined to be short.Or so did the people of her village believe. In truth, the fate of the child named Skygge was a path of pain and misery that mere death paled in comparison. Her family and friends refused to simply let the girl die, deciding to seek out any and all forms of medical aid they could, regardless of its origin. . .

It was not an easy process. In fact, death might have been a kinder fate than what the girl was subjected to.Some would call it medicine. Others however, saw the torment Skygge had to endure and saw only arcane rituals and witchcraft, practices not of this world. The procedure had initially come into their knowledge by way of a courier passing through their village who had supposedly made dealings with both witches and doctors alike. He spoke of a test. One that, while grueling and torturous in its nature, held the slim possibility to bestow great power upon the otherwise weak and frail.Initially her parents refused to even consider such a thing, the procedure's slim survival rate was an immediate fear, alongside the fact that the only individuals who ever managed to survive the process were both men and otherwise possessing a clean bill of health. It was not a method to save the dying, but rather bolster the mediocre.Only Skygge's pleads, her desire to truly live, managed to sway her friends and family into eventually allow her to undergo the test. After all, what more did she have to lose?

That day a miracle was reborn into the world. She survived. Although not without difficulty. The agony of the mutations brought forth by the rituals left Skygge a broken woman. Gone was the sweet, kind child born in that backwater village. And in its place. . .

Was a ruthless killer.

Most of the time, Skygge can be apathetic, cynical, and threatening. Despite her outwardly cold nature, some have noted that behind her exterior hides a fiercely loyal friend, a woman of good humour, and someone not indifferent to suffering. She can be very protective of and loyal to her friends and companions, and is willing to go to great lengths for those who matter to her. She could even be kind-hearted and caring to the people she loves.Skygge is also shown to be extremely adept at allaying intense, and at times bleak, situations and as a woman who would much sooner have everyone return home than draw their swords.Although she is essentially a cold-blooded killer, she treats the ones she trusts like family, interacting casual and friendly with them. She is terrible at recieving and reciprocating acts of praise and affection.Rather fond of children, despite the mutations leaving her infertile.

A violent, merciless slaughterer of men and monster alike. She was trained in the art of swordplay, both conventional and unconventional alike, as well as information on herbology, medicine and alchemy. She carries with her always two blades, one steel when facing humans, the other silver when standing against the more mystical creatures of the world.Undergoing the process while still young, Skygge was subjected to intense alchemical processes, consumption of mutagenic compounds, and relentless physical and magical training to make her a dangerous and highly versatile foe against the vast array of opponents, many of which possess superhuman speed, strength and/or other deadly powers. A mutant built specifically to hunt and kill inhuman prey. She possesses cat-like eyes that grant very acute nightvision - able to constrict her pupils to see in blinding light or open them to see in near pitch darkness. This nightvision can be further enhanced with certain potions, but in general, it is good enough by itself to not require further enhancement. Her entire sensory system is overall enhanced, allowing her to identify the species of animal from the scent of their blood, and detect nearby beings even when out of sight. She also holds a tremendous resistance to disease (which functions in most cases as complete immunity) and a boosted immune system, allowing her to consume large quantities of potions that could prove easily deadly if consumed even in small amounts by a normal man.She possesses exceptionally increased strength, speed, reflexes, and endurance, far beyond any normal or well-trained human, that allows her to swiftly end fights with minimal effort, and perform physical feats normal humans couldn't hope to match. Her physical abilities are sufficient to defeat most monsters single-handedly when combined with extensive training and proper weaponry, whereas regular men could only hope to accomplish this in large groups. She has also been known to shrug off hits that would render normal men unconscious, and survive the strikes of powerful monsters, such as giants or other beings possessing herculean strength, that would otherwise kill humans with a single blow. And lastly, she has accelerated healing granting a quick recovery from injuries.

To be determined. . .
